POKOTABI / Hiroshi
ひろし
Hiroshi in Itabashi's Oyama-Kanaicho neighborhood serves light shoyu ramen, fragrant fried rice, pan-fried gyoza, and Sunday morning ramen.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A bowl of straight thin noodles in clear shoyu broth carries the comforting simplicity of classic machi chuka—Japan's everyday neighborhood Chinese diners. Topped with rolled pork belly chashu, seasoned bamboo shoots, and tender greens, the soup balances a gentle stock with the rounded edges of soy sauce, inviting spoon after spoon. Located in Oyama-Kanaicho, Itabashi, Hiroshi anchors its menu on these unpretentious noodle bowls alongside a broad lineup of stir-fries and rice dishes.
The lunchtime sets draw steady midday crowds looking for a generous meal. The half-size fried rice ordered with ramen arrives packed with egg and bits of roasted pork, wok-tossed until loose and fragrant, with portions that feel surprisingly close to a full serving. Guests can also choose bean sprout ramen, salt-seasoned shio ramen, plump pan-fried dumplings with thick skins, or spicy stir-fries depending on their appetite.
Beyond regular lunch and dinner hours, Hiroshi opens on Sunday mornings from 7:00 to 12:00 for morning ramen (asa-ra). The morning noodle broth comes in shio or shoyu versions, offering a clean, comforting wake-up alongside options like garlic fried rice and side plates. With counter seats and raised tatami floor tables, the room is welcoming for solo diners and casual visits alike. Payment is cash only.
